Welcome

The Red Party is AID Upstate’s celebration of our annual fundraising campaign—Dining with Friends. The 2010 campaign raised $65,666.01 through 20 individually hosted dinners.

These contributions supplement a CDC grant which supports a partnership with the Greenville Hospital System’s Emergency Department to include HIV testing in standard lab work for their patients. AID Upstate provides follow-up case management services within one week of a HIV-positive diagnosis to ensure that these patients are quickly ushered into care.

Early detection is critical to improving the overall health of people living with HIV and protecting the community-at-large from HIV infection. Today, case management services focus on quickly getting clients into care and doing everything possible to keep them in care.

With this community support, it’s working. Clients are living longer. Some are returning to school to obtain their GEDs while others are continuing their studies at Greenville Technical College. Other clients have progressed from living with relatives and friends to managing their own households.

In addition to supportive services, the community’s investment provides resources to extend prevention outreach efforts beyond traditional clinical setting to social networks—on both the street and the internet. Our Prevention efforts in the Upstate consistently exceed State mandated goals. Such an achievement would not be possible without this investment.

The Upstate community’s support helps ensure our continued efforts to help individuals and families affected by HIV and to educate individuals at risk of becoming infected. Our supporters are at the center of our organization. They breathe life into our work and help change lives. Their donation does all this and more.
