AID Upstate is an AIDS Service Organization providing assistance to people living with HIV/AIDS in Anderson, Greenville, Oconee and Pickens counties of South Carolina. Our agency is divided into two divisions—client services and prevention services.

Our mission is to empower people living with HIV/AIDS and encourage active community responses through advocacy, direct services, prevention and awareness.

For the past 12 years, AID Upstate has successfully produced a Dining with Friends event, a fundraising model unique to AIDS Service Organizations. The model encourages individuals throughout the Upstate community to host parties in their homes, businesses, churches or restaurants and invite their friends, family and associates. AID Upstate staff and board members along with the dinner hosts speak with their guests about our agency, our clients, HIV and prevention. Additionally, party guests are encouraged to make a financial contribution to help support our work.

The Red Party is the finale to Dining with Friends. Everyone who participates in a Dining with Friends dinner along with the general public is invited to the finale. This event is a big celebration of the success of our fundraising season. Desserts are served along with beverages (alcoholic and non-alcoholic). Local DJs or bands provide music and entertainment.

This event provides AID Upstate with significant financial resources. We use the community support raised during Dining with Friends to provide supportive services to people and families living with HIV/AIDS in Anderson, Greenville, Oconee and Pickens Counties.
